I think it's important to of course set daily goals, weekly, monthly, and yearly goals, but I also think it's very important to know it's ok if those goals change. It's not necessarily that you have given up, it's that our life is constantly changing and sometimes we can't control everything, so it's OK if our goals change! Don't be down on yourself!
I also think it's important for our children to have goals and try to strive to meet those goals in life, but I also think that it's important to not focus all our energy on 1 thing.
People still ask me, do you miss dancing? Well, there were definitely some great memories that I had and I would do it all over again, but I am in a different place, I have a family and children, I can still get my fix by teaching or choreographing, but it's ok that I don't want to be a professional dancer wearing a half top anymore :) My body is tired and sore. But, again, I like spending time with my family. Life is about setting goals and either achieving them or re-evaluating what is really important! We learn lessons, and grow, thus our goals change.
After my mother died, I know now more than ever, that Life, family and friends, GOD is important! :)
